Today is the 25th of January and I exercised off and on throughout the day. I did almost 3 hours of light exercise, from lifting low weights to walking at a moderate speed. I use a exercise calculator to give me a ballpark figure of how many kilojoules I burned for that day. Monday I burned around 6000kj, Tuesday I burned around 9000kj, Wednesday I burned around 6000kj, and today I burned around 7500kj. Each kilo is around 14500kj (3500 calories). The important factor is to keep my kilojoule intake to around 5000kj a day (around 1200 calories). Of course, thats just the exercise, not taking into account roughly 2000kj for metabolic function and the kjs burned just by sleeping, sitting at a desk, studying etc. Like I said, I aim for around 5000kjs per day intake of food and I accomplish this by using Intermittent Fasting and by only having an eating window of approximately 4 hours a day. This eating window varies as well as some days I do eat over the day rather than fast and some days I have a larger eating window of 6 hours. It also means that I can sit down to the occassional bowl of veggie soup, some meat and veggies for my dinner and some breakfast cereal and yoghurt for dessert. Thats a very enjoyable meal! Sometimes I have a second meal, something small, like a piece of toast with some peanut butter. Generally I try to have one meal. I wasn't hungry today, Its now 6pm, I haven't eaten since approximately 10pm yesterday so thats 18 hours of fasting! I don't expect every day will be like this but its great when it does happen.
