I started my fitness journey the first day of 2012. It wasnt really a New Years resolution so much as it was a New Years Decision. I was 30+ pounds overweight and in terrible shape. I needed to start eating heathier and getting in shape. I had a well definded 'beer gut', and the sad thing is, I dont even drink! But i did eat like it was going out of style. So i decided to cut out junk food, all sweets, (i am a self proclaimed candy-oholic), start eating more fruits and vegetables and to just plain start eating smarter. I was also turned on to Shakeology by my co-worker. So-called fitness shakes were not my favorite drinks in the world, but i decided that i needed to get some super healthy stuff in my system and after reading the reviews, i decided to order it. I am so glad that i did. Chocolate Shakeology was my choice. My co-worker proclaimed it to be the best tasting fitness drink he had ever tasted. While i didnt agree with him 100%, i liked it and decided to do the 3 day cleanse with an awesome 7 pounds of weight loss and I continued to drink it once a day for the rest of January. I recently ordered some more to supplement my diet and i chose the new Tropical Strawberry Shakeology this time and WOW. This stuff is amazing. I look forward to drinking it now.
My co-worker and his wife were Beachbody coaches so i turned to them for advice. He turned me on to the painful but wonderful world of Tony Horton. I decided to try P90X and much to my utter disbelief, I found it to be too intense for me. Go figure. I hadn't done much in the way of fitness related activities other than walking the dog for 20 years. And that has only been for the last year or so. So, after some research, I then decided to give 10 minute trainer a go. I decided that i needed to do the 'accelerated schedule' because i wanted results. I tried it and much to my suprise, i found that i could do it ! Admittedly, I couldnt keep up with Tony, but I did the exercises to the best of my abilities (as he says)and i stuck with it, everyday, and every day i could do alittle more and a little more until i could keep up and do the entire routine. I completed my first month of 10 Minute Trainer on February 28th. Yep, February of 2012. I started seeing results after the 1st week. After the second week my girlfriend noticed and now after a month i feel awesome. I have lost over 10 pounds, it has been a slow but steady weight loss, and it is staying off. I was so encouraged by my results that, with the encouragement of my coaches, i decided to become a coach myself. I told myself that if i could do it, i could probably help other people do it as well. Although I am very enthusiastic about Beachbody, their products and getting fit, I will admit that i have a lot of learning to do, regarding both the fitness side and the business side of this adventure. I will be asking a lot of questions and I am willing to help anyone if i can, and if i am unable to help them, i can point them upstream to my coaches.
I just purchased my P90X dvd's and i plan on staring the grueling 90 day journey to getting into the best shape of my life ( at 42 )! I hope everyone comes along for the ride, cuz if i can do, so can you. As Tony says "Do your best, and forget the rest"
