It happens to the best of us. We lose weight, we plow through it, we sweat, we avoid carbs -- but then a birthday comes up. So, we have just a spoonful of pasta and a sliver of cake. No big deal, we continue the good fight after a moment of indulgence. This is a lifestyle change, after all. And no lifestyle is complete without a bit of fun and freedom here and there! All is well again, but then, friends visit from out of town. There's no avoiding it - we *have* to go out for some good eats. We tell ourselves, "Everything in moderation, even moderation" and throw caution to the wind. Fried calamari? Just this once. Crispy golden french fries? Sure! Fried chicken and butter biscuits with a side of mash? Yes, please!

And pretty soon, the road starts to look all too familiar. Eating socially becomes eating out of boredom. Or because of stress. Or just because. Eating becomes uncontrolled again.

Just last month, I was down to 128 pounds (I stopped recording my weight on FS, so I have no record of it online).

Now, I'm afraid to even step back on the scale. I'm afraid of seeing the damage I've done. At least I caught myself early this time. The last time this happened, I regained all the weight I lost - plus an extra 30 pounds for good measure.

But I'm back on track now. I'm ready to get my binge eating under control again.

This really is a lifelong battle. I will struggle with this every day of my life. It may get easier over time as these changes become habits and those habits become a mindset - however, I know that this enemy will never stop rearing its ugly head. I'll just get better at fighting it. But, I'm not giving up. I need to face it for a better, more fulfilling life and future. I need to do this for myself and for those I love and care about.

To those who are fighting this battle and winning every day - I hope you continue to find strength. I hope we all continue to stay motivated, to keep pushing and keep moving forward.
