I'm 23 years old and sick of being fat! I've done Weight Watchers until I was blue in the face. When I started WW, I was 89.9kg. Over a year or so, I got down to 78kg for my wedding (but my weight went up and down the whole time). I got married in October 2006, and now its June 2007 and I'm 92kg. Scary. I'm at my heaviest. I've signed up for Jenny Craig and I get my delivery on Monday, so I'll start on Tuesday. I really think Jenny will work for me. With WW I got sick of feeling deprived of some foods, so I binged and we all know that doesn't help! I also hate preparing food (even just cutting up fruit - I'm a busy girl!), so I'm hoping the delivered Jenny food will work for me. I've also starting training for the Adelaide City to Bay fun run (following the beginners trainig program in the Sunday Mail). I'm sick of hating myself and being self conscious and being the fat girl. I feel like a skinny person on the inside, I'm just not on the outside.

Partner supportive of diet?
Its tricky. I'm the grocery shopper in our house too, but if we don't have something my husband wants, he'll go out and buy it. Its not so bad when its just him, but if one of our friends comes over, he'll have what hubby's having and then I'll feel left out. I think its fair enough that your hubby can eat what he likes, but maybe you just need to talk to him and gently ask him to eat somewhere else, and that you need his support to do this. We're not talking anything huge, just him moving into a different room for 5 minutes while he munches away. He should be able to do that for you Smile

Question
I have been brought up with bad eating habits - I'm an only child to a single unemployed mother, so we got our government money each fortnight which had to pay for everything. Mum used to buy lots of junk food and I'd eat as much as I could all at once before she ate too much of it. Ever since then (even now when I buy my own groceries) I binge eat. I have put on 14kg since my wedding in October 2006 and am at my heaviest ever. I'm only 22, so I want to lose all my weight before 10 years go by and I start to regret how I looked in my 20s. I already regret how I was in my teens.

BiPolar and Weight Gain
Hi! I know its not the same, but I was on anti depressants for years to treat severe depression and I did put on weight with the meds. I'm only 22, and I was diagnosed when I was 17, and came off the meds when I was 20. I put on a lot of weight (i don't know exactly how much since I never weighed myself before it all happened, but I would estimate 10-15kg (20-30lbs). My husband also thinks I've put weight on since I used a particular contraceptive (hormone implant), but cause it lasts for 3 happy years, I ain't getting rid of it! From what I've read, the GI diet sounds good for you Smile Good luck! Very Happy

Any Aussies?
Hi! I'm starting Jenny Craig on Tuesday, but am after a buddy on any diet. I live in a small country town in South Australia, so if there are any other aussies out there, I'd love to hear from you! Very Happy
