Woohoo. 3LBs down. That's motivating.
Last week I saved a bunch of 300 and 500 Cal recipes that sounded good and put them in a binder to pull from for meal planning. I tried planning ahead and following the plan but some days didn't work out as planned. Still, I was watching (or thinking over) the foods I was eating and feel like I did pretty well for a first week. The new recipes were fun and even my husband and two kids liked some.
(We are all adults here so generally fend for ourselves but I like to share -sometimes.) Planning does take more time than I thought and can be a hassle sometimes but when I don't plan, I slip more.
SO, PLANNING IS KEY! (at least until eating right becomes second nature)
The other thing I noticed is that I struggle with snacking more the later I stay up (and my will power to resist my favorite treats weakens dramatically), so that is a bit more motivation to get to bed earlier than I have been. I'm trying to establish a consistent routine for sleeping which will (hopefully) help me be more productive and routined during the day.
(photo is one lunch, Avocado-egg salad. Yum)

After recording Cals, how and when I eat the last four days and evaluating how I feel with the meal sizes (whether starved or not) I decided I could drop my RDI by 100 (to lose wt). I'm not very active at all (yet) and I tend to skip breakfast because I'm slow to get up and going. Hopefully when I get my sleep sched straightened out, that will change. Focusing on 1-2 things at a time.

I am starting over here for my own records. I'm only tracking food here because it's easy to find the calorie info on the foods I eat and add that info to my personal recipes for Cal counting.
I keep record of my exercise, sleep and meal planning on my own charts. I do better writing things down and hanging them where I see them daily. (Apps are too easy to ignore). Besides, this is a complete lifestyle change for me <deep breath> and FS doesn't track or provide help for other aspects of my lifestyle (such as time management and routines).
I'll update wt stats and report any neat tricks or info I discover in my experience (for anyone curious or watching).
btw, this isn't a current picture but I haven't changed much. Maybe added another 10 lbs. Hopefully within the year, I can upload a better view.

Last week I was more active than my normal do-nothing routine but not very good for what I wanted (3/6 days exercise). I think if I lost anything, it was because I did SOMETHING, rather than nothing. I also cut carbs/sugars and paid more attention to food. (Sunday was a bust though. 😳 Too many cookies around)
Oh, I also wanted to add measurements this week. I didn't take them last time (inches).
14 5/8 calf
23 1/2 thigh
43 1/2 hips
40 waist
35 7/8 chest (just under bust)
41 bust
38 chest (above bust, under arms)
13 3/8 upper arm
