Good Monday morning to all of my friends going through this process and new lifestyle with me!

I partied WAY too much this New Year's weekend but kept within my calories, worked out, and actually LOST weight. Want to talk about me being shocked??? I was expecting a weight gain; not any loss! It makes me happy and makes me want to keep on the program because maybe I will be able to do more without the partying!

I am actually VERY proud of myself. My best friend stayed over for the weekend and usually when we hang out, I find myself not wanting to do anything but hang out with him. Yesterday morning, I asked him to go into my bedroom (he was on the couch) to watch TV so I could work out. I told him I wasn't comfortable working out in front of him and HE WAS OKAY WITH DOING THAT! I'm proud that I actually asked instead of saying screw it and I'm so happy that he's willing to help me in that way. He actually ate all my healthy food with me this weekend too and is very supportive of me. Please note that he's 5'9 and weighs 160 so he doesn't need to lose weight but loves healthy foods (wonder why he's 160 pounds? :) ). He and I cooked burgers last night and had so many veggies on them that I was stuffed after 1/2 a burger!

I hope everyone is having a good 2011. I have a goal this year (not a resolution):

Be Healthy
Be Happy

That's it!!! Being a single mom is tough but it's good to get my son started eating the right way instead of eating junk all the time.

Talk soon!

I have a food problem. I LOVE it!

I'm looking at my diet calendar and noticing how much cheese I'm eating. Even though it's not the Medium block of cheese I used to eat all the time, I'm still eating it way too much! I cut out the blocks of cheese, now I just need to cut down on how much cheese I am eating each day to like 1 thing of string cheese or 1 babybel.

My son will be home on Sunday and I won't have alcohol anymore which will help with my calories (I only tend to have a few drinks when he's not around). Actually, I am planning on having drinks New Year's Eve, planning on going off my plan that one night and getting right back into it the next day. And that's okay with me. I can take a night off to do what I want! I don't want to be lectured about it, it's my life!

I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks and I'm happy about that. I have a plan, I eat healthy foods, I have cut my soft drinks from 6 to 3 already, and I get more exercise now than I think I ever did growing up. I am getting more excited thinking that I can actually do this.

Do you ever see thin people complain because they had too many calories the day before? Not really...they just watch themselves the next day! Do you ever see thin people not eat something because "it's not on my diet"? Not really...they just have a little bit of what they are craving and be done with it! I am getting into a "thin" mentality. I am eating much healthier than ever before, shopping at Whole Foods and buying more fruits and veggies. I have tons of thin friends who eat normally, they don't freak out over little stuff. They don't weigh themselves every day to make sure they aren't gaining a pound.

I want to make friends and get support on here. I don't want people to say "You are doing this wrong" or "Are you sure you want to do this" or "I don't think you are ready to change your lifestyle". To them, I say PLEASE DON'T COMMENT. If I ask for support or suggestions, give me suggestions..don't say I'm not good at it. Well DUH..do you think I would be here if I was good at this???

Anyway, off my soapbox! I am happy today and having a good day. I hope everyone has a GREAT New Year's!!!
