more homemade & West Coast restaurants/chains please!
I'm new to this site & I noticed how the majority of options when choosing food items are things NOT found on the West Coast. In addition, things that are homemade aren't readily found either so I've had to google them myself & constantly "add new food". Also, I have a hard time finding International foods, too! What's the deal? Is America mainly eating meat, potatoes & fast food despite the influx of different ethnic foods being readily available over the past several decades?! REALLY?!?
My personal experience has shown me homemade stuff does a great job with controlling what I eat as I'm fully aware of what ingredients are going into my dish. I'm surprised to see how difficult it is to find foods listed here NOT attached to a fast food restaurant, convenience package, or frozen dinner. Those items are convenient & fast but they usually have hidden bad things (hydrogenated crap = your body making trans fats as it's processing the hydrogenated food) that may be hindering your diet/health with exception of calorie & fat counting. I know many people hate cooking or don't have the time so these things are much easier to grab (yes, I do it too sometimes) in a pinch. Just be aware of it, is all I'm trying to say. I've learned to cook big batches of storage friendly stuff (soups, casseroles, stews, etc) & pack them in single meals so I don't have to cook every nite/meal. I just take out what I need to warm up food for either just me or 3 people. It takes advanced planning but it'll be easy once u get in the groove.
I hope to see more foods listed here that aren't associated with brand names & more West Coast representation, please!
