I have tried lots of different diets in the past. I ordered the new South Beach diet book from Amazon, because it sounds like a healthy plan. I want to lose at least 30 pounds. There is a lot of diabetes in my family, and my mom and brother both had strokes. So I really want to get healthy.

Almost done with phase 1
Well, I did really well until this weekend. My oldest son and his family came from SD, so I kind of blew my diet. I had birtday cake and ice cream, and crab salad. Today wasn't much better. But I will hang in there. Should I do another week of phase 1, since I cheated on the last 2 days of it? Or should I try phase 2? I would like to have some fruit. I need all the help I can get.
I guess I will do things one day at a time!Cool

so far so good
Well, I started phase 1 on Monday, and so far it's going pretty well. I still have cravings, especially in the afternoon and evening. But I haven;t given in yet. I can't wait for phase 2 though, because then I can have fruit again.
I have read some of the tips on this site and they are very helpful. Wish me luck for the next couple of weeks. I really want this to be a lifestyle change and not a diet.

I'd like to start on the 12th,too. I just got the book last week. I was going to start earlier, but I decided to wait till after Mother's day.Smile
