YES!! I lost 10 pounds my first week.

I have a lot to lose, but this has given me motivation and made me very happy to see my hard work pay off when I thought all was lost due to the crazy hormone rollercoaster I am on. Now, to do this 20 more times or so. I'll try not to focus on that part and instead look to this in 25 pound increments.

Really the weighing and measuring and recording my foods in the app are really keeping me honest. My head easily goes to the I would like something to eat and I check the app to see what things look like and make the decision from there. If it looks like there is some room, then I make a decision. If not, I try to come up with something that might work or I choose to drink some water instead.

Please let me keep this motivation. I need this. I need the hope to keep me going.

Thanks for being on this journey with me. Appreciate the support.

Day 7

Down 8.5 pounds

I have thought a lot about portion control this week. After 6 days of weighing and measuring I realize I need to keep doing this. In the past my attempts at keto have followed my low carb no weighing and measuring just record your carb intake and don't go above your set number.

Clearly, I need to weigh and measure because my years of free range eating has skewed what a healthy plate of food portion size looks like for me.

Also, I have been trying to eat my meals slower and try to savor the flavors, chew thoroughly, be thankful and take the time to appreciate that I am making healthy decisions about what to eat and choosing to eat consciously instead of to feed feelings or cope with stress.

Planning ahead is another key to success for me. Too often I have used failing to plan as a reason to go off my plan, and we know how hard it can be to get back on board with things after we give ourselves permission to eat whatever we want.

Today I will weigh and measure, eat slowly and be thankful for my meals, and stick to a plan. Have a great day everyone!
