17 March 2013

It has been such a long week!! I was so glad to get to sleep in this morning and be able to go to the gym for a bit before a busy filled Saturday!

After 2 days of missing gym time, I was so excited to go today! We were only there for an hour, but I enjoyed that hour! We're planning to go for 2-3 hours tomorrow, we'll see how that goes! I know I need it!

Despite working out lately, I fell off my good eating wagon... and downed 3 chips ahoy cookies AND a freaking salted caramel cake pop from Starbucks... why oh why!!?? (Side note: delicious as all get out! I'd buy one everyday if I could, but I won't!!) Hubby and I finally went on a much needed date night - chili's & a free movie, thanks to my mom! I must give myself a pat on the back, Ok totally ordered a yummy salad to eat - which is really rare for me! But then... I also splurged and ate a fat free 100cal fudge pop.. and my brother bought me a banana shake... which I drank some of. My weakness is banana anything right now... ! Smh.
I will eat better tomorrow. I will eat better tomorrow. I will eat better tomorrow. I have to keep reminding myself of this. :)

I went to kohls today and bought 2 pairs of capris. It's already in the high 70s here in ga... so capris are almost necessary. I wasn't really planning to buy any, but as I grabbed a couple sizes and started trying on from smallest to largest - I got myself into a size 8!! I was so excited! My face completely lit up!! I'm usually a 12-14, so an 8 felt amazing! It was a bit tight in the waist, so I've got a little more to lose before they'll fit me perfectly, but I bought those suckers anyway!! I also bought a size 10, and figured I could start wearing them immediately. I was excited about a 10 too!! Woo to lower pant sizes! :)

Hope you're all doing well! :)

So, in an effort to eat better and healthier, I bought a couple bags of frozen fruit to make my own fruit smoothies - nothing added to them except water/ice; a real fruit smoothie! While I was buying the frozen fruits at Target, they had their market pantry brand fruit smoothie packets for less than $2 on sale. I jumped on that, after liking the looks of the carbs & calories on the back. ;) I tried a serving of the pineapple mango coconut one today for lunch, and let me just tell you how much I liked it! I will definitely be buying them again - after I finish off all the other frozen fruits & smoothies I bought. I was happy to replace a lunch with it, though I did eat half a bagel with it. Not to bad, not to bad! :)

After a long, tiring day at work, I was so excited to head to the gym tonight! I didn't do as many different exercises, and I need to actually start focusing on certain parts of my body each time... I did a little bit of both upper and lower body today though, with an excess amount on the abdominal machine. I'm a little addicted to that one. We spent a good 2-2.5 hours just working out! It was so needed!

Here's what I did today-

Treadmill @ 45 min, moderate speed
Leg extension 20@50lbs, 20@40lbs
Leg press 12@90lbs, 12@110lbs
Chest press 20@30lbs, 15@40lbs
Abdominal 20@50,20@60,20@70,20@50,20@60,15@70
Row 20@40lbs, 20@60lbs
Bicycle 20minutes, moderate speed

We're headed back bright and early in the morning before work!
I still need to measure and weigh myself again. I will probably do it this weekend! I can't wait to see and feel the differences in my body!

I've decided to record an entry everyday, for the most part. I went to the gym again today. I am loving spending my empty time doing something so beneficial. I kicked my butt working out today. At one point, after whooping my butt on one machine, I sat back to take a breath for a minute, and looked ahead of me to see my husband smiling and giving me a thumbs up. I just thought it was sweet of him to do that from across the room, because he knows I'm working hard!

I've decided that I'm not going to weigh myself everyday either. I get discouraged easily when I don't see instant changes day by day. So, I will be stepping on that scale once a week now!
I will weigh myself tomorrow morning for this week's weigh in... I will also take all of my measurements - I'm not so excited to see those; but, at least I'll have lots to work toward!

I work a long day tomorrow, so I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it to the gym. Usually my work days aren't so bad, but tomorrow and Tuesday aren't normal work days for me. I am sad I'll be missing a gym day, but it'll be my one & only gym day off this week. Woo!!

Here are my stats for today's workout!

Treadmill 22 minutes, moderate speed, walk/jog
Pull down 20@50lbs, 15@60lbs
Back extension 20@50lbs, 20@70lbs
Leg press 25@90lbs, 20@110lbs
Leg extension 15@60lbs
Abdominal 45@60lbs, 20@50lbs
Fly rear delt 30@40lbs
Chest press 20@30lbs
Modular lat pulldown 25@40lbs
Row 15@40lbs, 10@50lbs
Arm curl 11@40lbs

I also bought a few new workout shirts & a new pair of yoga pants! So excited to get my workout on!

09 March 2013

Well, I haven't been on here in almost a year and I know it's way past time for me to get back on track with my vision and desire for a healthy, active lifestyle.
I weighed myself the other day and I was at 196, which was a 6 pound loss from January. I'm jumping back into this with everything I have. I still want to be at 140. That's my biggest goal and I know I will be able to do it this time. I have my husband and brother helping me and supporting me along the way, and my mom cheering me on along the way already. My husband, brother and I joined the gym Friday and began our first workout. I can't even tell you how excited I was to be in a gym, knowing it's going to help me so much! I kept track of everything I did so that I can keep up with my progress.
My brother is really in shape, he loves working out and I couldn't be more grateful for all of his badgering about me getting up and active, and the support and encouragement he shows me. He pushes me to do my best.
My husband is doing this weight loss and healthy lifestyle change alongside me, which helps me so much. We push each other to keep going and work at it harder. I can't wait to be healthier and happier for myself, but for him and our future as well. He is a great supporter in what I want to do as well.

We went to the gym again this morning. We did an hour there yesterday, and 1.5 hours today. It felt so good, even though my arms and legs are sore! Sore = good.

Here are my activities from yesterday and today:

Friday-
treadmill at moderate speed for 15 min
leg extension 7@50lbs, 10@30lbs
Hip abduction 20@30lbs
Leg press 20@50lbs, 20@70lbs
Seated leg curl 20@40lbs
Calf press 30@65
Chest press 50@30lbs
Modular lateral pulldown 16@40lbs
Abdominal 30@50lbs

Saturday-
Treadmill at moderate speed to walk briskly & jog for 20 min
leg press 20@90lbs
Leg extension 12@50lbs, 8@40lbs
Fly rear 10@50lbs, 10@30lbs
Bicycle 5.5 miles, 30 minutes

I didn't do much in terms of different machines, but I'm just starting. I know there is plenty room for me to improve and progress.

Can't wait to get back on track!!
