WooooHoooooo! WTH??? I have no idea but I'm taking it!! We are getting our act together at the PO and have a system that is getting us out of there a bit earlier than 11 AM, which is great, especially as today is break fast day and I needed to EAT!!! I have had a great loss this week. No strength training resistance bands workouts, but 3 to 4 hours extra per day of lifting, scanning and throwing packages, no day so far less than 1100 packages! Trotting across the PO hauling multiple 2foot trays of letter mail and tubs of flats...magazines, newspapers, etc. It's really a high intensity workout combined with strength training as many of the packages are really heavy, so I am calling it full compliance with our Just Lift challenge! We have to step lively to get the mail distributed to the carriers so they can sort and load the vehicles and get out to the street early as possible. Right now they are spending the first couple of hours just delivering packages, then returning, loading the mail and head out for the regular delivery routes. This reduces vehicle overload with packages and having to do multiple trips back to the PO to reload, so the other clerk and I divvied up the work-load according to the areas we are strongest in. The DSS (package scanning system) tells me what route to throw the package to so I don't have to keep checking the schemes as I don't know all of the different addresses and which route they go to, so the other clerk has been there a few years and he can quickly sort letters and flats to the proper routes, so he takes care of that while I do the packages. Then we double team the PO Box mail and packages while the PM works the window for the first hour of business. It's working great so far!! As far as my outstanding loss this week....it could be the extra work, it could have been the addition of beans...LOL TMI 😂 but they made for a great colon cleanse! I'm doing the happy dance today!!! 4 more days to Christmas!!! We are kicked into high gear!!! Post Master made noises about another catered Thank you meal for Friday, I requested some type of egg n meat combination as an addition to the fruit and pastries she generally provides, it was seconded by a couple of carriers also, so she said she would see what she could do! That about covers my week so far, ya'll have a fantastic day...I gotta eat!

Good Morning FS Family! I am still working on getting in my protein through whole foods, so Sunday since it rained all day, I cooked. I rotisseried a 5 pound chicken, I put on a big pot of black beans and I browned about 4lbs of ground venison. I froze them in 6 ounce bags. Hubby had requested some cajun type foods....he wanted me to make gumbo, but it takes so much work...and flour to get the rue done. I have never tried using alternative flours to make it because if it turns out badly he won't eat it and it's expensive to make and then waste. So I asked him if he would accept a box of Zatarain's Jambalaya Mix. I added more celery, onions, pepper and spices to it along with Andouille sausage and shrimp. So my plan had been to add some servings of beans to my meals...which of course runs the carbs up a bit but adds a hefty protein and fiber number to it also. So my lunch yesterday was chicken and black beans, very tasty, very filling. There is also the issue of gas, which I have decided I need to learn to deal with. It's a natural human response to the fermentation that goes on inside the colon....everybody does it and just because I have no control over when that gas is released due to the colostomy, I will just have to deal with the embarrassment that the noise causes. One advantage I do have is...no one can smell it because my bags are not the filtered type. I can go to the bathroom and release the gas and not offend anyone's nose. So last night when I made the Jambalaya, it smelled so good I had to have some....it was high in carbs, but not so much in protein. I pulled out a bag of black beans and a bag of browned venison and mixed them into my 1 cup portion of rice and sausage...I left the shrimp for hubby as it's his favorite. So for the day, I hit 183.2g protein, 102.3g carbs, 82.54g fat for a total of 2008 calories. I'm counting on the resistant starch in the beans helping my gut biome and adding some plant based protein and nutrients to balance out the meat while reducing my dependence on the protein shakes. I went a little over the top with the addition of the rice but my body enjoyed it and I slept well. So my point to this long winded story is...how many of you out there use whole beans as a protein source and how often and if you do use them often, how well do they affect your weight loss efforts?

YaY! It's not as good as usual, but with the more intense bands workouts, I've got some tender spots that I'm sure are hanging onto water to recover. I'm feeling good, stronger...more balanced. Balance is good! So today is my Break-Fast, yesterday which is day 3 of my fast and usually spent in a fasting non-hungry glow was plagued by intermittent hunger..very unusual for me, but my workout was probably the culprit. I will adapt/adjust over time, any loss is a good loss and I'm thinking that my muscle mass is hanging on and that is a good thing! My work at the Post Office has not been kicking my butt as much, lifting the packages is easier, squatting to pick things up off the floor has much improved. No neck and shoulder tension when I get done at night so it seems to have improved my peak season stress also! Time for some cream in my coffee!! Woooohooooo! I miss that creaminess on my fasting days! Ya'll have a fast-tastic day!....well if you are so inclined 😁
