Purchased and drank a 500ml bottle of diet coke yesterday. Tasted fantastic... but had a bit of a headache afterwards, and was ravenously hungry. Two things that I have not felt in over a month of pretty much zero sugar (added or otherwise derived from more complex carbohydrates). Whatever sugars have been in me has been made by me, not ingested (for the most part).
I really can't be arsed to find out whether diet coke uses aspartame or nutrasweet or splenda or saccharin or acesulfame-k or sucralose or cyclomate or stevia or whatthefuck, but clearly it did have some effect on me at that time given the conditions etc., and that effect really didn't feel good.
Not going to be drawing overblown conclusions like artif sweeteners are evil-bad, m'kay, but they prolly aren't that great.

Whilst August was supposed to be a month of keto (for a bit of dietary 'spring cleaning'), Sept was going to be gently slipping into some kind of exercise routine, begining with some nice, gentle, stretchy yoga. Chankra this and asana that with the Qi and the gong (or is that bong?), before doing something weight-related in Oct.
Well that went to shit with my putting my back out a little on Aug 31 (yeah, really) when-contorting myself into the lesser known plummber's asana when plumbing-in a new washing basin in the bathroom. That either indicates I DEFINITELY need to do some yoga, or it means that bendy stretchy things is NOT for me. We shall see.

Bench pressed 15 L of apple juice yesterday, but the set up was the hardest... cutting hardwood blocks, finding and cleaning buckets, cutting pressing plates from off-cuts of laminate flooring (I started with a bit of paving slab and an angle grinder, but that was going to take just too much time), assembling a macerating rig with an old electric mower. I was knackered before it even came time to pick apples, let alone press the things.
One the plus side I made friends with lots of wasps who found sticky me fascinating. Best part of the day was proving to my sig. o. that wasps do not *want* to sting, and that she'd be fine if she did not wave her hands around like Tony Adams spring the Arsenal offside trap.
Yesterday also marked a month without booze. Pretty weird then than I was at step #1 of making cider.

I made pig's liver pâté last night. Gluten Free, of course, and more or less carb-free.
Uneaten as of yet, 'cause I am still full of Brazil nuts, but I am confident that it will taste fantastique.
EDIT:
OMG!!! BEST pâté I've eaten in lord knows how long. It's just absolutely amazing, and well worth the effort (which TBH is not much... cleaning of the food processor afterwards was the biggest hassle, so next time I will just use a knife and go full Ainsley Harriot on da meat).
Recipe's here: http://stephen.yearl.us/gluten-free-homemade-rustic-french-pate/ because it is just too annoying to add it via FS's interface.
