I'm considering starting a low-carb diet, perhaps Atkins or something similar, but I'm not so sure about the protein that would be required. I'm not a very big fan of red meats, and I'm on school campus for nearly 14 hours, which doesn't allow for very much refrigeration. I'm also worried about the "adaptation" period, because I need a lot of energy in order to go through nearly 4 hours of intense sport. Any advice?

Now that soccer season is starting again, I'm reevaluating everything I do and I'm happy! It was around this time last year that I realised I need to clean up my eating habits and start becoming active- the first 3/4ths of a mile that I ran last year ended up with me nearly passing out on the bathroom floor. Now, I finished the whole mile at 8:32! Even better, I'm balancing five APs, many clubs, and soccer from 2:45-4, then swim immediately after from 5-7. I really think I could reach my goal of 100lbs if I can keep this up!

It's been a while since I last counted calories, and I was pretty surprised to see that I managed to eat over 1200 calories today.... It puts into perspective how 'healthy' my eating actually is, compared to what I thought it was! It's time to lay back on the toast and butter.
