So, I tried something new. After going off my diet for a week due to a work situation -- a one week summer camp where I had to eat with the kids -- I had a hard time getting back on track and finally just out and out cheated for the first time since I started back in March. I decided I needed a kick in the pants, so I spent the last five days trying a version of the fast mimicking diet that was in the news back in June.
This is the diet I followed
I followed it very precisely and felt pretty good on it. I lost just over four pounds over five days and I feel confident that I can now get back to my regular routine.

Jeez, it's been over two months since I last weighed in. While I was stumbling along, staying on track with only the occasional overshoot, I haven't been getting to the gym now for over two months, as well. Then, I took a week's vacation in Italy. I decided in advance that I was going to go completely off my diet and enjoy myself while on vacation. The fear was that, as has happened so many times before, it would be somewhere between difficult and impossible to get back on plan when I returned. To my surprise, it was a snap getting back to it. And after a week on the diet, I was very pleased to find myself at a new all-time low. This is new territory for me. Several times I've dieted and got down to 220 lbs, but each time something would come up (often a summer vacation) and I would see my weight slowly return. This time around, I got through summer vacation and I've continued to lose weight. So I'm jazzed to see what the coming months will bring.

It's been a roller coast ride this month. It started with a one-week spring holiday. I figured this would be good -- easy to get to the gym, time for plenty of sleep, a chance to spend more time on cooking dinner. Actually it ended up being one thing after another that kept me from all of that. Didn't get to the gym once and missed the entire next week as well. Finally got things back under control and I've been below 100kg for the past couple of days.
