Having no success for months even when working with a nutritionist... Help please :(
Thank you all, and yes, this is my 2nd nutritionist Smile My first one didn't seem very interested in working with me on breaking down on what my calories should actually consist of, so I found a new one I am much happier with. Since she plans my meals for me, it relieves a lot of that stress. I will try and remember to update this if I learn anything new at the naturopath. I am also going to be tested for poly-cystic ovarian syndrome. Good luck to everyone.

Ok, once again thanks for all the replies. To clear up a few things, a few replies seem to imply that I'm just blindly dieting here. No, I've been at this for a long time. This is a diet plan, set up meal by meal by a liscensed nutritionist, with the largest calorie meal being breakfast. The plan also stays at or below 100g of carbs per day. No grains. No added sugars. That would imply that I do not eat any fast food or sweets etc. I am seeing a naturopath in the next few weeks. I do drink a lot of water, I do not drink soda, milk, coffee, etc. I drink tea unsweetened or water, period. I would also like to point out that I only posted this because it's been almost a year (since February) that I started this and I'm feeling frustrated only being down 22 lbs. Knowing how much I still have to go, it feels like a mountain so high that I can no longer even see the top of it. Thank you for the opinions so far.

Thanks for your comments! Yes we have a scale. My boyfriend and I do all this together, so he makes sure I don't cheat or anything like that. We just don't enter it into a website since we literally have it printed out for us by my nutritionist. When I look at the RDI on this site, it says 2200, that seems like an awful lot. I really want to lose this weight. I've been dealing with it for so long, I hate it. It's like a cage.

I guess my real concern is I had an appointment the other day, I hadn't been in for 2 months, and I had only lost 3 lbs in those 2 months. That does not seem reasonable to me for someone my size, considering the calorie restriction I'm eating. I feel like I'm broken, like something is wrong with me Sad

Having no success for months even when working with a nutritionist... Help please :(
Hello all, I've been working a variety of diets since about February 2014. I have lost a large chunk of weight in the past (about 140 lbs, but regained it, and am back to over 300lbs) I'm 32 and female.

I started with a no carb / low carb (max of 25 carbs a day) and was losing maybe 3 lbs a month while being in ketosis...very disappointing. After speaking with my nutritionist I agreed to try calorie restriction and a more balanced diet. I started at 1200 calories, and kept carbs low as well (my choice.) I was able to maintain ketosis and restrict calories to 1200. My weight loss did not really pick up. I did this for 2-3 months.

After that I went for a more balanced nutritious diet, forgetting about the ketosis since it wasn't really helping. Since then I have started working with a second nutritionist who plans my meals for me. I now eat 1200-1500 calories a day, Paleo diet, no grains, no added sugars, low or no dairy depending on the day. I get moderate exercise (break a sweat) at least half the days of the week.

Since July I've only lost 7lbs. All this work I put into it and to lose so little, it's just heartbreaking. My doctors are confused now too, and I'm seeing endocrinologists, but my thyroid has been checked repeatedly (it's fine) and now we're checking obscure things, and I'm being told to look at surgical choices. At this point I'm so discouraged and dissappointed. I believe I am doing all the right things, I've tried bringing my calories up to 1700 for a month as well and saw absolutely no change. Does anyone have any clue what's going on? I've been about 5lbs shy of dropping under 300 for almost 6 months now. Every time I look at the scale I want to cry. Please help me Sad
