Yesterday was my sister's birthday, so I allowed myself a cheat meal.

I think I learned a lot since Easter about how to do less damage. Last time I allowed myself a cheat DAY. My cheat day unfortunately left me 5lbs heavier the next day (which I knew wasn't fat, it was glycogen levels) and almost threw me completely out of Ketosis.

This time around I didn't eat much until we went out for dinner. I kept my cheat within reason this time. I ordered a mushroom burger without the buns. Had a handful of fries. I ate 5 pieces of calamari, 2 tortilla chips with spinach dip, 1 thai chicken bite and of course... a quarter slice of cheese cake. Over all, I cheated, but did I do much damage this time? No.

This time the results are going up 0.4lbs, I checked this morning and I am still in full Ketosis. I didn't feel too sluggish (although I do feel a bit bogged down) it's right back to business this morning. I started it out with a coffee then had my 35 minute medium intensity workout. I'll be eating salads and leaner meats today and I plan to take my sausage dog to a big field today to play fetch :-)

I think this experiment was a success, how I can cheat without doing great damage. What worked for me was eat less during the day, have your one cheat meal WITHIN REASON. This helped me feel satisfied without going overboard and then of course the next day is business as usual. Work out and try and burn some of the extra intake and of course, hydrate to flush out all you can.

All in all? I'd say a success, but only the next couple days will tell me if I actually gained anything or not. Will keep everyone updated!

Yesterday was a busy day.

Whoever thought that going to the mall after work would push my step count over 11, 000. I walked during my lunch break for a total of 30 minutes at work, but the mall excursion pushed me right over my goal. I ate kind of poorly yesterday because I was stressed. Not enough calories (900 is pretty low) but at least my carb count was at a low-moderate level and my protein intake was about where I wanted it to be at 58g (goal is under 67).

Dropped another pound today, I'm showing signs of fat burn still, hormones are just all over the place.

Total loss today is 35lbs, body fat percentage 27%, bmi 27.2, and progress 60% complete.

Overall goal is: 58lbs, body fat percentage 24%, bmi 23.3, and obviously progress would be ongoing maintenance within 5lbs of my initial goal weight.

Now I know that none of these will match exactly depending on what size I get to when I'm done. This is an ideal, I'm also not looking to get thin, I'm looking to get fit and healthy. I'd be happy if I reached a size 8/10 dress, which in reality is not that far off. Right now I fit in 12/14. Very close when I think about it.

Well well now! I knew that sign of tell-tale fat burn two days ago was going to lead to a drop in weight. I tend to plateau and then suddenly drop. I think it has to do with my hormones in particular but I know when I stall to keep calm and keep doing what I'm doing.

Today is my 1 day off a week from working out. Just because I'm giving my body a break, doesn't mean that I'm not active in another way. I'm at work right now and I plan to do what I call a "walking lunch break" meaning I eat at my desk while I work and then choose to take my "break" as a 30 minute walk outside. My goal today in terms of fitness is to squeeze in 10K steps and 5km in. 10 flights of stairs and at least 30 active minutes today. There is no excuse not to do something while breaking from my elliptical routine.

In terms of nutrition today, I brought a light lunch, will probably have a snack and a light dinner as well to compensate for not having an intense workout.

My total loss today is 34lbs, my body fat percentage is 27%, I have 24lbs to go to my goal, but my fitness and maintenance will NOT end when I reach my goal. I won't let myself slip again into bad habits or get lazy. It is just too much work to lose it. On the bright side I was stopped today by two people who noticed that I'm getting healthier, thinner, and putting an effort into my appearance!
