Darn hormones... over did it with the chocolate and cheese today. Mindful eating works better, when I remember to do it. ;)

I was out of town since last Wednesday and have not gotten fresh groceries yet. That's no excuse for the french vanilla capuccino, though I meant that to be my "breakfast." (Next time get the 8oz! :) Also, remember to go lighter on the almonds. yikes. Working "late" tonight and taking care of sick husband.

And to think I DID have a plan for today... this is what happens when I'm too tired to think. And I REALLY don't want to remember how much I ate (darn chocolate chips!) over the weekend. I suppose I must so I can enter it later somewhere in here... crickey...

Weekends can be quite the challenge for anyone needing routine or scheduling for starting or sticking to a specific eating regime or lifestyle.
In my case, following a low calorie eating lifestyle, consisting of mostly raw/vegan food, it seems much easier to focus on the right choices during routine of the work week. Besides weekends, my biggest challenge is making dinner for my non-vegan husband. The problem is that I just have to taste everything to make sure it's done right and that it tastes right. In terms of calorie count, this can really put me over my daily goal (and under my nutrition goal). In terms of mindful awareness, it goes out the window too easily at this time, which can cause me to taste or even eat foods that more visibly affect my immediate physical state like non-alkaline, inflammation-causing dairy products.
For instance, this morning I made him a delicious, low-carb, nutritious breakfast consisting of eggs, chicken sausage, turkey ham, and vegetables. In the process, I only tasted a small piece of sausage. Not too bad. But how did I end up drinking a large cup of regular coffee with heavy cream?
