I have been doing 21 Day Fix from Beach Body as my exercise this "round". I like to rotate through the various Beach Body exercise programs that I have to keep me from getting bored. So far this week, starting from Saturday, I have done Total Body Cardio, Upper Fix, Barre Legs, and today I did Pilates Fix. My favorite so far is the Pilates. It was a nice one for an active recovery day. My day was super busy with an unexpected car mechanical issue, so eating was not as consistent as I had hoped. I realized at 6pm I was really grumpy and hungry because I hadn't eaten since 11am. We made carne asada tacos and I was so grumpy/tired from low blood sugar that is was easier for me to choose a pre-made "option" from the food meal choices. So, not sure if the calories are exactly accurate. But, we will hope for the best!

I am new to this format of calories and weight tracking. I have always done it by hand. But, I am giving this a try!

I have been struggling with unexplained weight gain for the last 5 years. I eat a really clean, healthy diet. I rarely eat processed sugars, no transfats, etc. I avoid all the foods that they say to avoid. I also avoid any foods that I have tested sensitive too on IgG tests. I drink a TON of water a day (10-12 glasses) and I do moderate exercise a minimum of 3 days a week. This has been my regimen for many years. I have a min-mod active job as a pediatric occupational therapist. I do move my body a lot while working with kids, but also do desk work while planning and charting. I have been to many different kinds of doctors and had many different kinds of tests to figure out why I can't loose weight. None of them have been fruitful.

My thyroid is fine. I don't have diabetes. I do have chronic epstein-bar virus which has damaged my liver. So, I know detoxing hormones and toxins is more challenging. But, I have a good detox protocol that I have been following for years as well. I also have the MTHFR heterozygous gene mutation, so I know methylation is an issue. I avoid synthetic folic acid because of this, and I supplement with 5-MTHF, again to support proper methylation/detoxification.

An interesting side note is that my body seems to not be able to build muscle, and uses it for fuel instead of fat. I have been stuck lifting 5 lb. arms weights pretty much my entire life and cannot seem to build muscle. My body also doesn't want to burn fat. I have tried keto, and can never seem to get in to ketosis for very long, even when following it religiously. I'm sure this is all related to detox and methylation issues, since our bodies trap toxins in fat cells.

Anyway, I am putting this all out there in hopes that someone has experienced this in the past and has had some success. Or, maybe even a doctor of some sort sees it and feels they can help. It is so hard to stay motivated when the weight just keeps adding on despite my deligent hard work at trying to be healthy. It's hard to have someone look at you and judge you on what they think your lifestyle is when it is quite the opposite and you usually have a much healthier lifestyle than the person judging you.
