30 August 2021
Had a big day yesterday-coffee and fresh sourdough toast with a friend for brunch, Beyond Burgers with potato salad and wine for dinner. We did get in a swim at our friends house last night-in the pool for about an hour. Nothing strenuous for sure but lots of movement, plus I had a 60 minute hike in the neighborhood yesterday morning. Today I am on the Potatoes Only plan for the next 10 days. Gotta get this 3 lbs off so I can complete my project and move on to the next phase. This morning I had an appointment at the Retina specialists. I was there for 3 hours. It was an early appointment so I skipped breakfast not knowing how long I'd be there. My Japanese sweet potatoes were waiting for me when I got home. They never tasted so good, let me tell ya.
Have a good Monday, everyone.

August has been a hectic and stressful month. For the past two weeks I felt like the Captain on the Titanic each morning upon awakening. Today I broke the spell and got outside and did my 35 minute jaunt around the neighborhood. I managed to do some of the hills but skipped the big hill midway through since it was already 93 degrees and I was beginning to get light headed. I have 3 lbs left to lose in order to complete my project, affectionately named "Reclaim my Health." It's time to get a little serious and kick those remaining 3 lbs to the curb. Have a lovely weekend all.

Up early for a pool aerobics class. It went really well, and actually seemed to be easy, until I got home and climbed the stairs. Hello, Glutes and Quads. They got a work out. The water is so deceptive.
Down another pound it seems. Finally, I weigh less than my husband. That was a crushing blow when we weighed in on the first and he was 212! Now I don't feel too terrible.
Back on the potatoes today. I started the 7 day "Crush Your Cravings" plan with Andrew Taylor earlier this week but some disturbing news after my routine eye exam yesterday drove me straight into the arms of several dark chocolate squares, and later some pretzels thins dipped in peanut butter. Clearly my coping skills are still wrapped up in food-to some degree.
I am feeling ready for a fresh start because this time next Friday I want to (FINALLY) be down to my goal of 208.
Have a great Friday and Lion's Gate (8/8) weekend everyone.

Another nice drop. Finally starting to feel better. I did manage to work on 2 clients-canceled the other 2-yesterday. It really took the wind out of me, though afterwards. Plus trying to work with a mask on AND a cough drop was quite the adventure. All the cough drop fumes went up into my eyes and I was basically crying the whole time. One of my clients that has COPD asked if I had "changed up the aromatherapy" because suddenly her nose was draining. I told her it was the cough drop in my mouth. Hopefully, she found it amusing. I did cancel one client today and have 3 later on. I missed water aerobics this morning because I am still not up to it physically. I really miss the daily exercise. Have a good Friday everyone and here's to a happy weigh in on Saturday.

My summer cold is finally starting to ease up. I had to miss 2 days of work because of it. It's been 5 years-or more-since I last had a cold. I had started my 5 day healing ritual on Tuesday to get under the 210 mark by Sunday, but I needed cough drops and teas and extra Vitamin C so I will just do what I can and see how the scales spin on Sunday.
