This weekend was not the greatest for me. My parents were out of town so instead of cooking a decent meal for myself like I would normally have done, I went out to mexican for lunch and ordered pizza for dinner. I should have known beter, and I am paying the consequences for that. On Friday when I weighed myself I was down to 261 but after this weekend I was back to 263.
So back on the wagon I go. Still not drinking soda, and I'm actually doing okay with that. The hardest time for me is at night when I'm watching TV or reading. My habit was to grab a soda. So now I'm having to retrain myself to drink juice or water. Fun change! Since I've given up soda, water isn't as terrible to me anymore. I think it's because I'm no longer drinking so much sugar, I don't feel like water is so bland anymore.
Also I'm trying really hard to drink a Slim Fast shake for breakfast and lunch. In the past I have never really eaten breakfast so this isn't easy. But I am getting to the point were drinking one of those shakes for breakfast is fairly consistant. Now just have to get lunch in check.
My plan is to start with small steps and work from there. 1. gave up soda. 2. Eat three meals a day, not just one. 3. Make two of those meals a slim fast shake on most days.
So far I have the first two steps down. Working on the third now. Wish me luck!

Friday I decided it was time to do the unthinkable. I gave up soda! This to me is unthinkable. I love soda almost more than I love my mother. But unfortunately it does not love me.
First of all it has way too many calories of nothing but sugar. When you consider that I was drinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 ounces of soda a day, I was pretty much pickling my intestines. So I am giving it up. This weekend was pretty tough. I seriously wanted a Pepsi friday afternoon when it got crazy busy at work. But I drank my green tea and I got through it.
Looking forward to not being a slave to my sugar addiction!
