After finally getting back on here and tracking all the foods I eat at the dfac or in MRE's, I realized that not everything we are being served here is as healthy as they label. Found out my daily calories were far exceeding what I thought. So after tracking for a little while I'm finally dropping a few pounds with all my running and dietary changes.. Only a few months left in country so the 204.0 goal is well within reason.....

Struggling to find healthy choices to eat while deployed. I do not have the luxury of being able to purchase or prepare my food so I am stuck with whatever the DFAC provides. There are not nearly as many healthy options as there are easily prepared options. Makes this tough!!!!

I don't consider it cheating when I made the decision and plan to have a cheat treat for myself. However I feel bad enough about it now that I am taking my supposed rest day and going to go for a walk/run for 6-8 miles and just burn a few calories and stretch the muscles out gradually.
Just as a side note- I am proud of everyone's journal entries relating to success and offering strong encouraging words to those who feel down or drab. Keep yourselves busy and try for all the small daily victories we can accomplish when we put our minds to it.
