It's been really gross outside today. It's either been storming and very wet or just plain windy. I thought once the rain stopped I would be able to still get a run in after work. Boy, was I wrong. The wind was so bitter that it sent a chill straight to the bone. If I'm being completely honest, I did not feel like exercising. The only thing I could think about as I walked out to my car after work was how I wanted to get home, curl up in my PJs, and watch Netflix under the covers. Fortunately, I didn't let the excuses win this time.

I've never used the workout videos on YouTube even though I know there are tons available. Today I decided to peruse the cardio section to see if one caught my eye. I saw one that was a HIIT video and a quick 11 minutes. I thought, "A full workout in 11 minutes? There's no way! I've been wanting to try a HIIT workout anyway so I'll give it a try. Worst case scenario, it's not hard enough and I do another video." Oh. My. Goodness. It kicked my butt! I started the workout fully expecting to need a second video to feel like I got my exercise in. I was very wrong.

Not only was it a hard 11 minutes, I had to take a few breaks and do the modified moves. I felt like such a wimp. I just laughed at myself the whole time because I thought it was hilarious that I was getting my butt kicked by a YouTube video. On the plus side, I definitely have a lot of improvements I can make so I look forward to doing that video in the future and eventually being able to exercise all 11 minutes with no breaks and the advanced moves.

On an unrelated note, my eating today, while a big improvement over what it's been lately, was still only so-so. I'm trying to make a concentrated effort this month to eat more fruits and veggies. I got a veggie sandwich from Subway today since I was running late this morning and didn't get to make my lunch. It was okay. They skimped on the toppings so that was a bummer. I also had no fruits or veggies with my dinner. So my eating today was better than it has been but could still use some changes. (Bonus points: I didn't touch any of the donuts laying out at work today!) Tomorrow will definitely be better!

All in all, I'm calling today a success. Now I'm off to bed because I am beat.

Have a great night, y'all! :)

Today is day 2 of getting on track and I feel pretty good. There are some donuts at work trying to stare me down but so far I don't want any. I think I'll be able to avoid them today.

So far I really like FS (except for the name) and everyone seems to be really supportive. It makes me feel like this time I'll actually meet my goals. It's really great to have such a supportive environment for when the going gets tough.

I made a list of 10 health and fitness goals I have for myself to accomplish in 2016. I'm putting them out there for all of you to see to help me stay accountable. They are:
1) Reach my goal weight
2) Run a 5K without stopping
3) Beat my 5K PR of 32:07
4) Cook more
5) More water, less soda
6) Run a 10K without stopping
7) Wear size 8 pants or smaller
8) Wear size 7 ring or smaller
9) Wear a bikini this summer
10) Strength train more

I'm not focusing on all 10 items at once because that would be too overwhelming. However, I feel a lot of these should overlap with each other which will help me to reach these goals.

I was going to go for a run today but it's storming out so I'm going to have to come up with a Plan B. Looks like it's a great day to break out the workout videos. :)
