I am 57 year old female. I have been overweight since birth (sad but true)... lol ... I have been on diets all my life, spent an obscene amount of money on every new weight loss fad out there always looking for a magic pill. Hypnosis, spiritual awakening, cleansing fasts, low calories, no calories, more calories ... it didn't matter ... if weight came off (fast or slow), double the weight always came back on.

Last October, my sister (who lives in the States) and I decided we were tired of saying "Oh Well, might as well accept that we're fat!!" We went on the Atkins Diet, calling each other every night ... we did not follow the plan as listed online but found that not eating Carbs and Sugar actually started to make our weight drop ... we're down thirty pounds since October ... slow but steady ... although we have had a few times at a standstill weight ... actually we've been on a standstill for three weeks now .... but we just wait for tomorrow to come, knowing we did not cheat and the weight will somehow start dropping again.

I have never stuck to a diet as strictly as I have stuck to this one and although I have lost, I still don't feel thin? Weird huh? I think my biggest problem is LOW Self-Esteem and NO Self-Confidence to make a difference in 'my' world, although my clothes do fit better, I still feel yucky about my body. Inner Thighs, Stomach, Upper Arms ... arrrgggg!!
