Fooling myself?
You're walking for 24 minutes, plus some exercises. In my experience, *any* exercise is better than none, and the less you dislike an exercise, the longer you'll keep doing it. Running is useless if you stop after a week.
Let's be honest here, most people stop exercise because they don't like it. If you're looking to keep exercising for some time, stay with what you're doing. It's probably equal to 15 minutes of running. Slowly increase activities each week. That way you won't over do it, and then give up.

Resuts Drive Performance
Having lost and gained over the past 15 years, I've developed a few theories about successful weight loss, based on what works and what doesn't. Two of them are: in order to be successful you have to have belief that you'll reach goal weight! If you don't have that, it's almost certain that you'll be unsuccessful. The second is slightly related: in order to reach goal weight your weight loss programme has to be in the top 4 or 5 things of importance in your life. In other words, substitute it for other things you can put off for the year or two you want to lose weight in (or months if you're lucky).
