Heading the right direction again. Have friend visiting from out of town whose presence will help me avoid grazing in the evenings. That grazing habit is definitely my downfall. Portion size is a problem too, but one battle at a time right?

Anyway, weight is heading the right direction and I'll take it and be grateful.

Just sent a message to someone with a tip that I have used successfully. Thought I would copy it here as a reminder to myself to use this strategy.

None of these naked carrot sticks for me. I make up dips with 0% Fat Greek Yogurt. I make sure it has lots of flavour with salt, hot pickled peppers chopped fine, garlic, basil. I change up the flavours, but I make sure it has LOTS of flavour. Then I chop up parsley, celery (leaves and stalks) supper fine and mix at least half and half yogurt and chopped vegetables.

Then I dip the carrot sticks, mushroom, bell pepper strips, turnip and rutabaga slices, cucumber spears in the dip. I can eat pounds of it and still lose weight.

The big flavour satisfies me. The small pieces and finger food keeps me occupied, so I don't wander over the fridge and start grazing. I believe I will resurrect this strategy for when my friend leaves town and I'm tempted by the cheese in my fridge.

We have 9 days left in the month. I had hoped to be down to 83 kg by month end, but it looks like I won't make it. Nonetheless, I'm on the program and and will try to lose one more kg in the next 9 days. I was taking teacher training when Canada converted to metric measurements. Conventional wisdom in the education field was to teach kids to think in metric measure. That works fine for me when it comes to dressing for the metric weather temperature. It works ok, when buying food in the store, but I still need to convert to British Imperial when I plan my weight loss. Observing weight loss in metric is fine because I'll take loss, no matter how it's decorated. But planning? I need to think in pounds. Crazy hunh? Anyway, back to the plan. It looks like I've lost about 6 pounds this month. Think I can lose 2.2 pounds in 9 days? Gonna give it my all. Remind me on February 1st.
