Sometimes I wonder to myself how everyone is approaching their goals. For instance, do you consider this a journey to weight LOSS, or weight RELEASE? (CAPS in place of italics, I am not yelling at ya, I promise! lol)
There is a theory that if . look atb it as a loss, you are subconsciously setting yourself up to gain back because the human brain usually connects "loss" with "oh no, I need to find this again". I am very much in line with how this feels to me, but not completely. I still fall into the "loss" thought pattern once in a blue moon. *shrug* There isn't anything to do but move on from what and work harder at correcting myself on it.
My son had pulled one of the ducklings from our broader to sit with, and it came to me for my breakfast! lol I gave it a tiny bit of plain scrambled egg and it LOVED it!
With the weather nice and hot here in the south east, it was nice to go outside to the chickens and ducks with an ache in my lower back, only to have it melt away standing in the hot sun.
One of the things I have noticed -so, an NSV, if you will- is being more tolerant of the wet southern heat. I can stand outside and be totally fine with it for longer than I used to. My cooking is getting more exercise as well LOL. I made Simplemommablog's Low Carb Taco Soup for lunch yesterday, and OH MY GOODNESS! The recipe worked out very well. Next time, I may add black and green olives for more depth.
I am trying not to fall into the rut of scale obsession. My body shape is changing, my clothes fit differently and I mostly love that!
My family has been enjoying sharing some of the meals I make that go in line with keto and low carb. I made a bowl of bunless cheese burger (nothing but a piece of cheddar on a pattie) on top of a mixed greens salad with some ranch dressing for my mom, and she ate it all up! With her, it is baby steps as we go. Not too drastic a change in the beginning, and I can get her more adjusted.
Does anyone know if someone who had an AFIB episode in November at 58 would be safe to do keto with perhaps a higher carb limit than the 20g I use?
