TGIF! What a morning! I made it all the way across town for a meeting with the company owner and he didn't make it. His baby is sick and he's staying home with her. oh well! We rescheduled for Monday but I also have a lunch date with a friend so I hope I can wrap up that meeting with him in 2 hours!

On the weight front I am holding at 194 today so that wild weight loss ride on the scale might be over for now. That was pretty amazing for me though - a good loss was long overdue since this year started I was stuck in weight stall purgatory for many, many, weeks although I did have a period of good weight loss within the three weeks before my vacation! I believe winter inactivity was a big part of the stall because as soon as I was very active the weight started to go down. What this means for me is that being very active is part of my formula .... I just have to find a way to fit it in and get the motivation to make it continuous!

I am going to get my hair done at lunch time today so I will have to leave in a few minutes. I like to pamper myself once in a while! I hope all my buddies and FS friend have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!

30 April 2015

Today I got on the scale and I lost another 2 lbs! I am down to 194. This week has been a completely out of the box experience when it comes to weight loss. I am still riding the wave even though I know it has to peak soon and get back to a normal pattern. I am going to document what has been different about this period so that I will be able to reference it as a reminder in the future. I think I can attribute some of this streak to my trip to Disney. It seems that it jumpstarted an unprecedented drop due to the incredible amount of walking I undertook every day including the day we arrived. We walked for many hours every day. I am sure it played a role. The other thing I did was to go immediately back to my IF eating. It was not hard to do that because I was not that far off base at Disney. Before I got to Disney, I ordered groceries to be delivered at our resort, with low carb items so that I could be sure to have choices. While there, I started every morning with a very large coffee serving (about 2 1/2 cups with my cream). I ate 4% cottage cheese for breakfast. I consumed a huge amount of water. I snacked on cheese. I had coleslaw and my coconut salad oil - almost every day! I had some huge protein hits while I was there (Polynesian bbq dinner at Ohana, meal at Be Our Guest and Tony's Italian). I guess it was a good thing that I did not freefall into carb-dom on vacation - I dabbled! All my meals since I got back are very low carb. My macros have been on point with my fat percentage hovering in the high 50s/60s mostly. My carb is about 10% or less. The rest is protein. My calorie intake is less than 1400 and I had a one day blip where it was much less than that. The biggest thing I am experiencing since getting back is that after I have my BP coffee, I have no need to eat until approximately 2 pm or sometimes later - I am listening to my body rather than eating at certain times out of habit (physical hunger trumps mental/emotional hunger). If I eat much later than 2 pm I often don't eat a lot for that day - it's just worked out that way since I am not planning my eating times in my window - just listening to my body. My plan basically is to stick to eating within my 8 hour window and ensure that I have enough LC food at the ready. The other thing I have done consistently this week is to start my day with a glass of water even before I have coffee. I keep the water consumption going until approximately 5 pm and try to have about 6 glasses. It has kept me focused to keep documenting my food too. Since coming back my meals are very simple - I've had mostly eggs, cheese, veggies and one day, I had fish! I am having a BM every day consistently - that was not always the case before my vacation but when I was on vacation it became consistent (don't know why). I think that helps a lot - I have always had problems in that area (enough said). Last night I had a loooong walk, up and down hills in my sister's neighbourhood. I have to keep my activity level high I think - that's not always easy. I will add Jillian's 30 day shred back into my post-vacation routine and get back to my yoga. 1 hour of walking 3 times a week would be a good start in terms of walking - I really would like to make it a daily activity. I am sleeping very well and feeling great. Clothes are getting very loose - it's great to see that but I am resisting the urge to buy anything right now! Well, I am off to work now. Have a great day friends and be golden!

April has turned out to be one of those interesting weight loss months! The scale had another surprise for me this morning and gave up another 2 lbs. This could be due to my low calorie intake yesterday which was completely unplanned. I started my eating with cottage cheese and berries. I followed up with some coleslaw and coconut oil. My intention was to have a 3 egg omelette with spinach and cream cheese for dinner but I went out with my sister to my mother's house at about 5:30 pm and never made it back until after 9 pm. It was well after my eating window was closed and since I was not that hungry I simply drank some mineral water and went to bed. I have not checked to see if I am back to ketosis but I may be. I did not have the usual ketosis headache but that could be due to all the water I've been drinking to offset the ketosis symptoms. I will try to remember to test myself today just to see what the ketosis meter has for me. I am planning for a walk today - I really think the many hours of daily walking last week at Disney did something for me. I won't be matching that but I want to keep my activity level up. It's such a beautiful sunny day anyway - this is what I have been waiting for since Spring started! My oldest daughter is at home because high school teachers are on strike for over a week now so I may convince her to accompany me. She's heavily into her books and practising piano though - sometimes hard to get her to step away from her studies (especially after a week of wanton fun in Disney). Have a great day friends ... be golden!
