Hello! My name is Janice and I'm from Puerto Rico. I haven't actually been struggling with weight long, it's been the past three years where I've gained 36 pounds total and I do not like it! At first I blamed it on getting Mirena, and heck, that could be a part of it, I'll find out next year when I don't have it anymore! I'm a single mother, college student, on welfare, no job and my child is a picky eater. So I usually go for the easy to make foods I know she'll eat, usually fried chicken (in the deep fryer) and mashed potatoes from the box. Rice with sausages, red meat soups, things like that. Not entirely healthy eating.

I barely eat, not out of choice but lack of hunger. I'm TRYING to change that, beginning to catalog all my calorie intake in a day to see how I manage that. It's very hard to force food down yourself when you're not hungry at all x.x; As of today I am cutting back on all candies and sodas/juices. Only low fat yogurts (fruits spoil fast in my home because my kid doesn't like them much) and water whenever I get an itch for candy or thirsty.

I LOVE to exercise... in a gym. At home I generally hate it. I either have to wake up hours before college to do it, or do it hours after my kid's in bed (if I do it while she's awake, she won't give me enough time alone or keep out of trouble enough to be able to concentrate). And I usually avoid the home exercises with excuses "I'm going to college from 8am - 6pm, to get home to a child, I don't want to be tired ALL the time! So not waking up early!" And then about the night one "Ugh, I have few precious hours of alone time at night, to study and just relax with TV, I'm not going to give that away to be tired and sweaty!" BUT This will change, I'm going to try (With youtube.com's help!) To do at least 30 minutes of work out (light, cuz I get dizzy very easily) at night ;)
