Last year, my motto was New Me in '23. I kinda think I rocked it. I didn't miss a single day or meal of tracking. I went from couch potato to regular workouts. And I now love my exercise routine!

I'd considered Love More in '24 as my new motto, and I still plan to work wholly on giving and receiving more love this year! I actually have more trouble accepting love. I give it quite freely.

But I've decided to go with Less is More in '24 instead. I'm not a Minimalist and I don't plan to be. But just as my body had succumbed to excess, our home has, too. It started feeling more like a bloated warehouse than a comfortable living space.

Hubs and I busted booty and paid off our home last year. We invested in all new windows and doors, a metal roof, and a few other improvements. But even with just the 2 of us here, it's wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling stuff.

So, I'm decluttering big time! Losing unnecessary junk just like I lost the weight. And it's great exercise for mind, body, and spirit!

Any "almost Minimalists" here?

Well, it's January 87th and we still have a week of it left. 🙄 You can always tell a Southerner who suffers from seasonal depression because they whine from December 1 to April 1. Two weeks of arctic blast did not help my attitude.

In less than a year, I lost 41 lbs and I met my 1st and 2nd goal weights. I would like to get down to 130ish, but I need to hit the pause button for a minute.

This month has been brutal. Two car breakdowns, three extended (and expensive) stints in the dentist chair, a couple of professional setbacks, a family member's house fire, and some devastating news about someone I love ... I need to take a break instead of trying to push on and hitting a brick wall.

So instead of abandoning a year of progress, I'm going to set my calories to maintenance level and just hold my ground until things get better.

Maybe the extra calories will be enough to help me finally build a little muscle mass. 🙂

Is 2024 being good to anybody???
