Boy, it has been a long time since I added a journal entry. I've delayed due to being absolutely frustrated with my blood sugar. I just took the last 9 months OFF and during that time ate well but drank wine. Well as you can imagine drinking wine helped the blood sugar some but ultimately I didn't lose weight and I didn't feel great either. My frustration wasn't necessarily so much with the higher blood sugars but with my dawn phenomenon. There was NOTHING that worked for me and I will NOT go on medication. So...about August of this year I got serious about Intermittent Fasting (IM). I started with a 48 hour fast and have since fasted 16-24 hours with a fairly small eating window and NO snacks. I must share that my sugars are better than the last 4 years combined and my dawn phenomenon has subsided. I've curtailed my drinking and am staying positive, staying active, and will never turn back. With support like this application, the love of God and family...I can change my life forever. I've damaged my body for most of my 50 years and now I'll heal my body for the rest of my life. All I can pray for others is...find what works for you and stick with it. May not be easy....but we're all here for you. Wishing myself and all of you the very best day, week and rest of year. Oh, by the way....my weight is no longer an issue...since Fall of 2015 - I've lost 85 lbs (237lbs at 2nd back surgery to 153lbs today) @height 5'9". #GoodbyeDawnPhenomenon

* I can see that after just two days there is a gradual decline in my blood sugars w or w/o exercise. However, exercise for me does improve glucose sensitivity. I will work on determining the right caloric intake in ratio to exercise to continue gradual weight loss. Have also noticed that carbs from refined flour or corn have very different effect on following day FBS and DP - duh....carbs from veggies (although can be high) seem to have overall lowering effect throughout the following day (if eaten in moderation. I've eaten so many homemade kale chips at one sitting that it DID impact my BS. Moderation Suzanne moderation!
