Aack! Between Farmer's Market, Father's Day, and today (leftovers) I feel so disappointed in myself! I have a sort of "compulsion" to devour lamb if it's within reach, and I have had three full days of lamb meals, just begging to be eaten by me! I have eaten pita (I don't even care for bread products!!) and tzatziki sauce and rice and feta... I made a leg of lamb on Father's day and it came out AMAZING!!!!! I coated it with ground Dijon mustard and rosemary and garlic and some pink Himalayan sea salt and roasted it to a perfect medium rare bliss! I hate to overeat, but that is what happens when lamb is on the menu. I love to cook (and I'm pretty dang good at it!) but its less like a gift and more like a punishment to someone who's overweight like I am! I don't even feel hunger most of the time, but lamb makes me feel like my body is being nourished down to a molecular level and I can almost here the quiet sighs of my cells as they are being fed this rich protein. I can give up sweets and breads and dairy, but I don't know how I can moderate my lamb gluttony! So... I have put on over 2 lbs in the last couple of days. Worst of all, I weighed myself this morning, and within an hour I had that leftover leg bone out and I was carnivorously tearing at it's remnants of meat. For BREAKFAST! And then LUNCH too! Help, I'm an addict! -A lamb addict!! I will try and do better, but in all honesty, I'm already thinking about lamb for breakfast tomorrow.
