Exactly. That's what made it finally click in my head. I still have a chance to turn things around with my health and I'm going to take that chance and literally run with it.

Thanks everybody. I'm not really "dieting", but I am eating a lot different than I used. No more fast food, but I did have a slip up one day. I walk everyday, but now I plan on adding kettle bells into my routine and see how that pays off. I will keep you updated.

Newbie to forum and weight loss
Hello Everyone,

I was told by my doctor on April 18th that I am pre-diabetic. Since that day I started chnaging my eating habits and becoming more active. I alway knew that I needed to lose weight, but when she gave me that news it put my motivation into overdrive. I am determined to lose this weight, so I do not have to deal with all the health issues of being overweight.

On April 18th, I my weight was 289. As of yesterday (May 15th), I am at 275. That's a 14 pound weight loss, when my doctor only wanted me to aim for 1 pound a week.

I decided to join this forum, because I'm interested in finding out how everyone else is losing weight and to see if maybe I can incorporate what you do into what I have been doing, so I'm able to lose more weight. I'm currently at 275, but I would like to be down to 200 or 180.
