I'm pleased I've lost weight. Even more pleased I've kept it off. Goodbye, yoyo.

I've decided to record my seafood intake with the Healthy Habit Tracker app because I always forget whether I've hit my two servings a week quota.

Baking an Arrowhead Mills Organic chocolate cake as a reward for closing in on my goal. The yield is supposed to be two 8x8 pans, but I will be lucky if I get one, even if it rises 100%.

Update: cake came out of the oven looking like a real cake, not the chocolate goop the brownies turned into. I don't know whether this made the difference, but I discovered the Vegg vegan egg substitute has to be set aside in order to thicken. I'm grateful the oven didn't set off the smoke detectors. I thought about adding mixed nuts to the cake, but decided to keep it simple. I did punch it up with a scoop of whey protein and a tablespoon of chia seeds.

I'm thinking about switching back to FatSecret from MyFitnessPal for my food diary. MyFitnessPal syncs with the Withings Pulse, but in practical terms, it makes no difference. It's simpler to do everything in one place.

All this cooking depleted my extra virgin olive oil. It's so expensive I decided to go with Smart Balance. For the same price as two bottles of California, I get a year's worth of Smart Balance.

Finished off the last of the Ghirardelli 87% cacao squares. The fact they are individually wrapped makes it easier to control intake, but produces more waste. Next time, I will get cocoa powder or nibs.

Good news: finally connected with the sports physiologist/nutritionist highly recommended by my sister. She believes his program will get me on track to regaining muscle mass. She's really impressed with the results she's gotten with him.

I don't know what happened to his first email. I guess it got lost in the ozone. One hour phone consultation to start. Always good to have a coach in your corner. My sister says he's passionate about keeping up with the latest research.

I'm going to start doing wall slides (planks for your legs) again, which is the most efficient way to strengthen your legs, according to "Age Defying Fitness." This time I will use the Healthy Habit Tracker app to stay on course. Update: did three wall slides, but was only able to hold the position for 30 seconds before my butt slid to the floor.

Speaking of apps, Paprika is a great app for storing recipes with lots of features. Have a recipe for lentil soup will start tonight. Wish I could dedicate a tablet to the kitchen.
