Saturday was an eye opener. I had gotten up at about 6:45 and was getting dressed to come from the bathroom to the kitchen without waking my wife. Her phone buzzed, and saw that it was a niece, but declined the call since my wife needed to sleep. About a minute later, she comes into the bathroom and says some one is at the front door. I told her to see who it was, and then it turned out to be another 2 nieces and a husband to one of the nieces. They were on their way to Panama City from Louisville, and stopped to see if we wanted to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. My wife never turns down a breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Off we went, and ate a relatively benign breakfast that was still 1200 calories. OK, I had 2 eggs, bacon, apples, OJ, 2 biscuits, and a LITTLE GRAVY. Thankfully, our lunch was lower calorie, and we had a salad with chicken for dinner. So, I got away with about a 2000 calorie day. Although, I did get down, again, to 199.8, today will be a "calorie saver" type of day. Everything will be light (generally oatmeal, salad for lunch, and probably fruit and cheese for dinner) and hopefully not over about 1500 calories.

Saturday was also an eye opener since I went back to weight training again, and will add some core exercises on Monday. My arms had begun to feel like noodles, since there had not been any strengthening work since my fiasco with the hernia (read: heart coded on the op table) operation in January 2021. The hernia was finally repaired in 2022 using old school methods rather than robotic methods. When I say they feel like noodles,...that is in contrast to my arms and upper body when I was in college and was a power lifter. Thus, am starting out with some lighter weights for the arms, and going back to the planks and other core exercises. The legs are strong from all of the bike riding, and always have been a strong part of my total physique. And, I am not a "six-pack" type of guy. My upper body has always been "barrel chest" type, and there has never been a "six-pack" that was able to be developed. Guess I am a "one-pack" guy.

Y'all have a wonderful Sunday and another week to come. Going out the door to prune some branches from a 1/2 dead tree, watch the PGA Championship, and go to Bible Study tonight. Guess, I better take a shower before leaving the house. Y'all are wonderful, and I truly appreciate the support that all of us have for each other on this site. OK, my dissertation is over. God is good !!

I don't know what happened, but WOW !! After all of the celebrations back in early May, my body finally got to where I started & below at the beginning of the month. I weighed 201.8 yesterday, and this A.M. woke up to 199.8. Thankfully, all of the extra calories are gone and the salt has been eliminated in the past 2 weeks. My wife has been so supportive in this, and though she doesn't really need to lose weight (of any consequence), she has dropped about 7 - 8 pounds also. I have a feeling there are some delicious meals coming up in the next few days. :) My next, long range, goal is to get to 190 so I will not be between sizes. I would like to be below that, but that is about the weight where she says I look the best.

Everyone have a good "rest of the week". I'm playing golf this afternoon. By the way, please pray for a friend who is undergoing treatment for melanoma in her right shoulder. Be well everyone. God is good !!
