Hi! My Name is Travis. Turned 30 last October and have been slowly gaining weight. Currently weighing in at 212Lbs. In my early to mid 20s I was fairly active with work and on occasion would work out with the equipment I had at the time. But now I've been slowly gaining weight and I'm looking forward to losing a few pounds. Currently don't have any type of time frame in which to lose this weight. But using this site, I hope to keep track of the good/bad foods I eat. Will try to fit in a few work outs here and there while I'm at it.

Calorie Intake Seem A Bit Excessive?
I'm still rather new and would like help on if the RDI is accurate or not? According to this sites RDI, I need to have 2600 calories in order to lose 1LB/Week and 3100 if I want to maintain my current weight. This seems to be excessive? I've gone to a website that calculated my basal metabolic rate or (BMR) and it stated I need just under 2000 calories a day? This makes it a bit confusing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
