Cold day today. I am in a sharing mood so here goes.

I am glad I joined this group. I come here to get inspiration and encouragement.
I want to break the cycle of obesity and poor health that exists in my family. My sisters are both on Meds for COPD and Diabetes.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 18 months ago. I was on a low carb diet with exercise and meds and even trained for and ran a marathon.
Fast forward to today.
Life changing events triggered my depression and in short time I abandoned all that was good and healthy. I stopped checking my glucose levels. Missed my appointment with my Doctor and ate all I wanted and didn't exercise.
I put on 12 pounds. My blood sugar was out of control and My body hurt all the time. I hated how I felt, how I looked and I was disappointed and discouraged.
I was looking on my phone for fitness apps and came across myfatsecret.
What the hell, I thought, why not?
I am happy that I looked into it. I found encouragement and something to look forward to on my journey back to health.
I am not interested in losing weight as much as in getting back to healthy and happy.
