Tarla's Journal, 08 June 2012

I can see you 270's, better watch out cuz here I come!

I noticed this morning while trying to figure out what to wear today, that all of my pants are getting really big on me. Great way to start the day! Most of my pants I will actually have to take them in soon or they will fall right off of me :) That rocks!

I bet in another month or two I will have no choice but to go buy some new clothes (darn!) Although I don't want to buy too much new stuff because I will just keep getting smaller and smaller and then the new clothes won't fit anymore either :) Sweet!

I read on one of my buddy’s journals (yesterday I think it was and I think it was Kingkeld) that making goals makes him work harder and better because he always has something to work towards. So I have given it some thought and I believe it's time that I set some goals for myself, short term and long term.

Short Term Goals
~Drink 12 cups of water everyday
~Only eat when I'm actually hungry
~Stop eating as soon as I feel full
~get at least an hour of cardio, at least 6 days a week
~Move every chance I get (only 1 hour of TV a day unless on my bike)
~Stop what I'm doing and really listen to my kids when they ask me to
~Practice in more group exercise
~Do more things that make me happy and not worry so much about everyone else

Long Term Goals
~Get under 200 pounds
~Get under 150 pounds
~Find out what a "good" weight for me actually is
~Fit into a size 6
~Stay active for the rest of my life
~Become a Yoga Instructor

There I have set my goals out loud, no turning back now :)

Hope you all have a great day and weekend!

Sounds like a great list of goals-and every single one of them is attainable! Little by little you will keep making strides and before you know it you will be front and center, living out your dreams :) P.S. have you considered thrift shopping until you are at your goal size? I find tons of great clothes that way and it will be way cheaper while you are transitioning.

I thrift store shop even when I'm not going down sizes! Garage sale season is upon us as well. And perhaps you have friends who have old sized clothes they'd give you. Also, leggings are pretty flexible for sizing, or light-weight jersey knit dresses. I had one size 16 dress that I continued to wear just fine I even when got down to size 10. Now at a 12-14 it fits still.

Good job on the weightloss, Tarla, and on the goals. You should put them on your profile, so that you can mark them off as they're accomplished. And they WILL be. :) Have a great weekend.

Great goals Tarla! I also do a lot of thrift store shopping. I've gotten some great things. Sometimes I find something I really like but is a bit too small. I buy it anyway and use it as a goal outfit.
