Junk in thee trunk's Journal, 01 February 2018

I made it through 12 days. I felt good and had good energy mentally and physically. I was able to walk up to 2hours per day.

The down side of the fast is that I’m struggling with water retention and have no idea why, but it has to be related to the fast. Even worse is the mental aspect. Although I don’t feel hungry at all, I find that I am thinking about food almost constantly to the point of being distracted. I am also having fantasies about binging on unhealthy food. I’m struggling to banish these thoughts. I’ve also noticed my skin is quite dry and I feel like I’m freezing all the time.

I’ve decided to end the 21 day fast at the half way point. I’m moving on to intermittent fasting. Haven’t decided which plan yet, 5:2 or 16:8. So I’m going to give 5:2 a go for the next two weeks. I’ll also stick with low carb paleo like diet, not true paleo because I have some dairy: whey protein, cream in my coffee, Greek yogurt.

My big challenge is to gradually re introduce food and exercise so that I bring up my metabolism as I bring up my calorie intake and don’t regain what I lost.

I’ve picked out a 3 day per week plyometric high intensity work out to add to my weekly routine. On to the next phase!

brilliant loss. HIIT has great health benefits even just 2 minutes per week. you have to go all out effort for 20 seconds. so intense that even lasting 20 seconds is hard.
