Maybe you could try to reduce the net carbs you consume. That's all I could see that might cause the weight not dropping. Sometimes your body goes through an adjustment period though, so maybe just be patient for a while longer? Hope you figure it out.

If your stomach has food in it then it will never need to break down bodyfat to live. Perhaps try skipping breakfast and only eating food from midday. Or you can keep carbs to 50g and increase your protein/fat. Keeping protein to 1.5 x your body weight is a good guide to how much protein you should aim for. Make just 1 change to see if it gives you a boost in losing again.

BBO when you talk about carbs are you referring to potatoes, pasta etc etc? I try and eat lots of protein and o carbs but at the end of the day I have more carbs and fat than protein. For example I have just eaten 165g steamed broccoli cooked from fresh and there are 11.52 carbs according to the calorie counter.

MSalicat carbs exist in various foods and some foods have a high carb content whilst some have a low carb content. All veggies have carbs but those are good carbs as opposed to carbs contained in pastry which is known as bad carbs. To increase protein you need to increase your consumption of meat, eggs, fish, chicken, etc. Leksie has answered your question about how much protein to consume correctly. We always refer to food weight in grams. Some people who do high protein diets will go for 2 x their bodyweight for protein target. Anything more than that is unnecessary. Going back to your question on carbs, 165g of broccoli gave you 11.52g carbs but take the same weight of bread and you will end up consuming 77.55g of carbs and those would be bad carbs so to speak. Learn more about your foods and you cant aim for 0 carbs if you going to eat veggies. In fact, you shouldn't even try to keep to 0 carbs :)

Thank you Leksie :) OK that's what I thought re good & bad carbs. I look at my daily carb intake compared to my protein and unfortunately it's not broken down goo / bad carbs so it looks like I'm eating too many carbs although my main carb intake is at breakfast which isn't a problem because I work it off during the day. We very seldom eat any breads or processed stuff because of the bad carbs. Thank you - now I know I have to up my protein intake :)

Msalicat why are you eating 200g of oats??? That's way too much. Unless you are weighing your oats after you cook it ?

200g after cooking

Msalicat, no wonder your carbs are looking so high in your Food Diary! Oats are supposed to be weighed in uncooked form. 1 serving is generally 40g uncooked. You might use more water than I do in cooking it so that same 40g of oats can become different weights in cooked form for different people. In future, weigh your oats uncooked and record that uncooked weight.
