I stopped Banting completely to see what effect it would have. Complete disaster. Painful joints... chest infection, flu like symptoms, water retention... Massive weight increase even with exercise.
Up until the point that I stopped, I was actually starting to feel good, but I had also increased my exercise regime. I wondered if I was not feeling better simply because I was getting stronger.
I love the occasional creative sandwich, my desserts, my pizza and pasta dishes, chocolates but the truth is that there is no doubt in my mind that these carbs are killing me.
It will take a huge amount of discipline (doesn't anything worthwhile?). I started Banting seriously again on 7 August 2016. I'm already starting to feel better... only time will tell.
