Approaching goal weight. Still not sure if my goal weight is realistic? Down another pound this week.
I did some research this morning concerning a goal weight. That involves calculations of BMI number and height and weight. I was surprized that there was not a correllation for age and activity level, or bone structure.
So my BMI was 22. something NORMAL by the chart's indexing. I will then assume that my age demands a bit more weight on my frame and that my frame (bone structure is medium). There is a range of suggested weight. - 121 to 158.. At 145, I am in the high side of the normal range, which is fine. My original goal weight was 135, which would be a nice rounded 50 pound loss in the end, but today I am officially changing my goal weight to 140.
My husband made a comment to me about what he has been observing about my weight loss. When someone sees me and says, Oh you have lost weight. I defer the conversation and minimize the topic. Pass it off as being really busy, exercising and even that my loss was a tangential effect from my husband gaining weight through his achilles recovery and needing to lose 20 pounds...
The truth is that I don't like to talk about myself and maybe my weight is a very personal long time friend that I have struggled with and maybe I am a bit private about. Outside of this secret Forum, I am not quick to talk about MY weight, good or bad. I have to say that I feel like my experience with weight control has given me a full PhD of knowledge and experience, but only very specific to me. I do get bored with people that have to recite their eating habits over dinner (downers). Picky eaters have always been aliens to me (my husband is one, and for more reasons than that, I'm still wondering where in outerspace he was formed). Purebred vegetarians, paleos, pescatarians seem cultic. My point is that healthy eating should be base, but there shouldn't be so many rules, 'forbidden fruits' even political stands against food groups. I advocate freedom to eat edibles and explore and hello - PORTION CONTROL, knowing that there will be foods that will be avoided due to taste conflicts on the tongue, prescription drugs antidotes, allergies, obvious unecessary unhealthful indulgence (which is greatly related to portion control)...
Wow that was a rant... remnant from my newspaper writing/editing days...
Thanks for indulging... 0 calories per serving :)
