Trimmer55's Journal, 12 November 2015

Wow - another long time inbetween weigh in and journaling. This is because I was on a trip south to get to my winter location. My husband will join me in some weeks after he finishes up a project, so I have some time alone.
I was a little wary about stepping on the new scale for two reasons. I had just hosted a relative for a long weekend here and didn't want to spoil her vacation, by telling her that I was on a regimen. So although I was being sensible when eating, I knew that she was noticing my reserve. She is one of those people who likes to have 3 squares a day and snacks and desserts and a drink or two (on vacation remember). I hadn't seen her since the family reunion. This was the same reunion, two months ago, that prompted my husband and I to take on a regimen. The photos posted to facebook being wake-up calls to ourselves.
In fact, one breakfast at a beach resort proved to be a rediculous amount of food brought to each of us. We could have easily split the one meal, but I picked and took the lion's share of it back home with me. I think that she surely noted that, but did not say a word.
That said, I did partake of gelato - twice! and nightly cocktails, which I have pretty much put off for special occasions.
The second reason I was wary to weigh in was that this was a new scale AND I wondered about it's calibration. Pulling it out, I see that it is digital and with a wiggle of the batteries, it works fine and measures me in with more pounds away.. YaY! Now that's 18.2 pounds down...Now I have access to tenths of pounds. My other scale measures only to the nearest half pound.
So I feel good. It's been incredibly to eat a light regimen when I am alone. My husband has reported that he has lost 5 pounds since I have been gone, but I worry that he just doesn't remember to eat enough. Get's a little too much on task. Slightly a work-aholic and me not there to put a reign on it.
So I have changed my workouts from house renovations, which was a lot of lugging, lifting and painting for 6-8 hours a day to my new schedule of walking and swimming. I have been doing yardwork and the humidity is brutal and likely burning calories, but I credit the swimming as the necessary exercise.
