Linda Marmon's Journal, 04 February 2015

I have followed 2000 calories, It's supposed to be enough less to start a loss. I was told by the nutritionists when I had my surgery that 2000 cal would drop the weight to 200lbs. And 1900 calories would bring the weight down to 190lbs. I guess it must apply to more active people than I am at this time. I had to help my husband up off the bed and pulled my back out, again. Now my sciatic nerve is acting up bad. I am not moving around much. I'll do better, I promise.
257.0 lb Lost so far: 1.8 lb.    Still to go: 58.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.4 lb a week

It's just so hard...I found out they are starting an over eaters anonymous here next month. I think I'm going to try that. They use the same program as alcohol anonymous. I'm am powerless over food. I'm not hungry, but I eat.

Years ago, I joined OA, but we were such a small group we never really got going before everyone dropped out. I think it's a good program, probably would have worked if we hadn't dropped it. I have an App on my new phone that I've been following so i hope it'll help. Good luck with OA.

You can find beginner yoga classes online that can help with gentle stretches and get you moving a bit. I weigh 195 and eat 1500 calories a day on average and am losing 1/2 lb a week. Thats just me though but maybe drop another 200 calories and see if that helps?

2000 calories? If you're not active, it'll be a reeeeally long time before you lose 60 pounds. Sometimes it's easiest if you throw out all the bad food so that it's not a room away to tempt you. Substitute a hobby like knitting that keeps your hands busy then you have less boredom to fill with food.

I always have to have my hands busy when I'm watching tv. I have learned a new craft, making rugs. But its spool easy, I have tried different ways to do it, but with arthritis in my thumbs I have a hard time. Then I found one way to do it. It's call tooth brush rug making. I love it. I buy sheets from good will, rip them up and I'm busy all night, don't eat, plus I have accomplished something
