Yesterday was DAY 1 of my 1/2 marathon (Oct 9) training with a buddy, Doonie. I ran 3 miles and it felt GREAT!! Our goal was to run at an 11.03 mile. We ended up running at an 11.13 average pace but we were happy with our results given that it was our 1st run of our training schedule. yay! But I wasn't happy with how tired I was after the 1st 1/2 mile. BUT, after I transitioned into the 1 mile mark, I felt amazing! Not tired, a lot of energy, and not severely out of breath either! Though around mile 2, I felt exhausted and I was hurting. lol Not one area in particular but I was struggling. We finished off the 3 miles at a quick pace (around 9.30 or so to make our average by the end of the run). After a few minutes of recovery I was back and full of energy. Doonie told me I probably still had about 3 miles in me but he didn't let me run any more. LOL

I also played about 45 minutes worth of coed flag football. Lots of long routes! Also tons of fun and high intensity!
Now Today: Breakfast was light, a 5.5 ounce can of low sodium V-8 and about 4 tablespoons of 2% greek yogurt. I was starving by noon!

I just finished lunch and it's 3:10pm. Late! I had 2 chicken legs, 1 corn tortilla, and a really small salad w/ a little bit of ranch dressing and the avocado salsa. I. am. STUFFED!! I now realize that even though I thought I didn't eat that much, I really did! So I think I should eat only 1 chicken leg, the salad w/ salsa instead of dressing, and no tortillas. But then eat a snack between lunch and dinner. Maybe carrots, or some fruit w/ almond butter?
Physically I feel really great after running and playing football last night. I feel a little bit of soreness in my calves but that's to be expected. I'm a little sleepy but alert, and it was a little difficult waking up this morning (I went to bed by midnight) after 8 hours of sleep. I think I need to go to sleep a little earlier and wake up earlier.
DOn't have dinner planned yet but I"ll update my post tomorrow.
173.4 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 38.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
