Do you count calories on carnivore or just go on how full you are? I want to transition into it as I am a pear shape who struggles with muscle gain so I'm hoping eating lots of protein would help

How do you avoid constipation with carnivore?

In general, counting calories is not advised on a Carnivore way of eating. You should just eat when hungry and stop when comfortably stuffed. Some people don't lose weight for the first few months if they've been on any kind of restrictive diet beforehand. Patience is needed so the body can heal and eventually the appetite will even out and fat will come off. Constipation isn't usually a problem, though you will probably have fewer bowel movements when eating this way, simply because your body uses more of your food, rather than expelling masses of indigestible plant matter. Don't confuse going less frequently with being constipated. If you have trouble going, adding more fat to your diet should help with this.

Ahh Jaxanne, thank you, you're a star. Being a typical guy, I'm very economical with words.

sorry the be the down voice but the carnivore diet is really bad for you. it works because of two reasons. 1. you have illuminated a food intolerance and 2 your getting a lot of protein. protein is a major key for weightloss you don't have to illuminate other foods. but if you seriously feel you need to do this. try just upping your protein and that should work for most people without having to do anything more dramatic.plant proteins also work fine.

Old toppie. If you are feeling. Good your probably moving in the right direction with your diet. I think it takes years to find what works and that people really are different. From what I've read about it you could perhaps do it for a montth or two, but then start reintroducing foods. See if something lakes you sick. My guess is hidden sugars, oils, sauces or Lactose. But i know there are people who say they do better eating just meat but many of them are really really sick with food intolerance. So it really should be the last resort. Long terme the carnivore increase risk of cancer and heart problems and more. Those people are choosing the best option between two really bad situations. Just Google doctors tractions to the carnivore diet .

You probably needed to reboot your system and that did you wonders? For me personally i just keep trying new things and new healthy recipes and i really enjoy it. But it took me really long to get healthy. I am ok with loosing weight slowly as long as it's permanent. I have found that processed foods and sugar is my cryptonite. though i do eat meat i am closer to vegetarian because of all the veggies and beans i eat. Since i cut that out sugar and processed I've been feeling better and better and looking better. And i pay attention to get enough plant protein. I also went to go see my doctor for antidepressants. I think it's all so complicated and connected. But those who are successful are those who keep learning and trying. Good luck to you! Hope you manage to just get healthiet and healthier.
