Metabolic Syndrome Info (stats for men)

People with metabolic syndrome have an increased long-term risk for developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Metabolic syndrome is 3 or more:
- blood pressure 130+/85+
- fast blood sugar 100+
X waist 40+
X HDL < 40
X Triglycerides 150+

LDL
- < 100 optimal
- 100-129 near optimal
- 130-159 borderline high
- 160-189 high
- 190+ very high

HDL
- < 40 low
- 50-59 better
- 60+ optimal

Total Cholesterol
- < 200 optimal
- 200-239 borderline high
- 240+ high

Triglycerides
- < 150 normal
- 150-199 borderline high
- 200-499 high
- 500+ very high

Fasting Blood Sugar
- 70-100 normal
- 100-125 prediabetes
- 100+ diabetic
