Babysat my grandsons this weekend. Pizza and donuts do not a good diet make. Any tips on controlling urges when you are going to be somewhere for a couple of days where there is food you know you shouldn't eat? I took good stuff with me. Their's just looked so good!

I say to myself “Do I want this donut or do I want to be skinny” and I decide in that moment which force is pulling me harder lol

Kinda what I did. I have been doing pretty good at jumping right back into it when I get home. We have a lot of celebrations coming up. My youngest daughter-in-law graduates in May with her Master's in Psychology and I am watching my grandson and granddaughter from them that weekend and then there are grandbaby birthdays. We are having my only granddaughter's 6th birthday and my 50th on June 4th so I see a lot of cake in my near future. I just keep making these events the exception and not the rule and going right back into it when I get home.

Plan your indulgences. Include planned treats in your healthy eating. Have 1-2 pieces of pizza, but also eat a huge salad with a healthy dressing. Eat a donut, but swap it out for 2 carbs and 2 fats. I stay on track. Drink lots of water, and try to plan additional activity on the days you know you will have your treats. It’s water and glycogen. It will be gone by Friday.

Honestly, I am not good with temptation and would have joined you falling face first into the pizza. I don't like donuts.

My experience is that the more I eat healthy food, the less I crave the unhealthy food. Keep plugging away, keep coming back to a healthy diet, and over time it will become easier and easier 🙂
