NatiV's Journal, 31 March 2011

History: When I first moved back to CA from MD about 3.5 years ago, I had just suffered a hip injury and hadn't started my new job. So, since Carls Jr. was literally behind my apartment, that's what I ate - everyday. And I drove there. Of course, I quickly gained about 15 pounds and was, at the time, 'at my heaviest' of 160lbs.
Almost a year later, I finally was pain free enough to start working out. Then I had the surgery to repair my hip. Which of course set me back and then I was again 'at my heaviest', which was then 165lbs.
It has now been almost 2.5 years since surgery, and I've gradually gained another 7 pounds. And I reached a new 'my heaviest' of 172.
I recently decided it was time to gain control and take action. Then 3 weeks ago today, I was involved in a car accident where a woman hit me and rolled my car over. Now I have 3 buldging discs in my neck and one of those is protruding and leaking fluid.
Which means I can only do low to no impact exercise. I now get to limit caloric intake and take laps around the mall with the blue hairs. Oh what joy.

Day 1:Breakfast was the same as usual, eggs and a slice of multigrain toast. Decided to cut cut it to 1 egg today, instead of 2. I think I'll change it to 2 egg whites to limit the calories and of course cholesterol.
Not so happy about lunch. I took 2 bites of my friend's sloppy joe sandwich (delicious btw), then ate my entire lunch which was a homemade lasagne with greek yogurt instead of ricotta cheese, extra lean ground beef, and a TON of veggies: carrots, spinach, mushrooms, onions, squash, etc. Anyway, I'm stuffed! I need to remember to eat 1/2 of what I brought today.
Plan for dinner is a salad like last night's: baby greens, carrots, mushrooms, snap peas, broccoli, with light balsamic vinnaigrette.
Hoping to go for a walk today.
