love4life's Journal, 21 June 2007

I gained a pound, which I knew I would. I ate a cheeseburger and fries on Tuesday. I did it because I simply wanted it. I got back on plan and will avoid my food weakness.

My son has had high fever since Monday evening. Took him to the doctor and found that he has croup. I stayed home him yesterday and my husband is with him today. Tomorrow is my turn again. I feel so bad for him. My husband told me he knew our son was really sick when he crawled onto my husband's lap voluntarily to cuddle. Our son doesn't like to cuddle with daddy, he wants mommy. We'll see how they fare today.

I think I will start posting my food journal on a daily basis. Is anyone else interested in doing this? I thought it would be helpful for us to see how others are eating and get ideas on how to change things up. Let me know.

About the cheeseburger and fries.....was it worth it? The reason I'm asking is because I would love to have that. And I was thinking, I would like to treat myself to this meal in a few weeks. I've been doing the program 100% as far as I see it, and I dont think it will really hurt anything. I thought of even treating myself to a 'good meal' maybe once or twice a month, if that. What do you think? Is that fair for me? Oh and I hope your son is much better now. I wouldn't mind posting a food journal either. Have you started doing it yet?

I did gain a pound. How much of it was fat or water retention I don't know. I did feel bad, but then I realized I hadn't had a cheeseburger and fries in TWO years. So it was worth it for me. Thanks for asking about my son. He is doing better, he still has fever, but not as high. I did start the food journal. I posted under Daily/Monthly plan log. I am on the green, that just means in am short a fruit and vegetable serving. You can still have the burger and fries, use the Carb Craver menu option if you don't want to gain the possible pound like me. When I was on gold I did do the occassional "Not on Plan" meal with the family. The difference was that instead of making the meal like I used to before LAWL I used the healthier versions of the ingredients. Low-fat cheese, fat free sour cream, lean ground beef etc. If you decide to, drink the hot lemon water to help eliminate retained water.
