Saw NP Sr Eileen today for my 3 month checkup. Lost 18 lbs in 3 months an average of 6 lbs per week. Sr Eileen says that's perfect. My blood pressure is good too. She's not concerned about the heart flutters. She says that often happens as women age. I'm thinking it has more to do with my sodium intake which I'm keeping a closer watch on. Since I started doing that, the fluttering has lessened. My A1C went down too from 6.5 to 5.7. I intend to keep it there.

I'm steadily adding more exercise projects. I don't have the time to spend with intense exercise on a daily basis; so I figured out where I can fit it in. I walk a half mile in the morning to catch the bus rather than catching the closest and transferring. Because of that choice I'm walking better without my canes.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays after work, I go to the therapy pool here in town and I run in place. I'm steadily working it up. Right now I'm up to 15 minutes. My goal is 30 minutes. I can only run in the pool. I try that on the ground and I'll end up on the ground unable to get up. ;)

Wednesdays and Saturdays I do weights and Sunday's I repair the driveway from our little guy's running sprees. We have dog who loves to run. At the end of the run he drops and slides into the gate at the end of the driveway. Needless to say rocks are everywhere except on the driveway. Last Sunday I was outside raking the rocks back for 45 minutes. When I was done I had a backache from the effort. I figure if I do this once a week, I'll strengthen my back and arms; get some balance work in; get some exercise that has an additional usefulness and get a driveway that looks normal. He's actually not that little. He's a German shepherd/border collie mix.

Your observation on the heart flutters being related to sodium intake interests me. I notice I have heart flutters and it is usually after I eat chips or fast food. I was attributing it to too much caffeine in the unsweet tea I usually drink (or soda), but those foods are full of sodium and that could be a contributor as well. Since I started tracking again, I see that my sodium intake is much higher than I would like it to be. I'm going to try to get that down. Congrats on the 18lb loss, that is fantastic!

How's that sodium tracking going? I'm starting to notice days without the flutters are related to lower sodium. It's amazing how much that's in everything.
